OK, up front here: Eli The Eliminator isn't really a "gimmick" in the same way Doink or Giant Gonzalez was. Aside from the slightly goofy name, Eli was pretty much a bad-ass. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that he was almost a prototype for Bradshaw.

So why is he here? No reason in particular, other than I've never seen him on any other sites, and I thought I'd feature an old-school guy who a lot of today's fans don't know, but should.

Eli had stints (as Eli) in Bill Watts' UWF and in World Class, where he was part of General Skandar Akbar's Devastation Inc.

Before that, though, Eli (real name: John Richmond) was Mad Maxx, who along with Super Maxx (Sam Decero) comprised the Maxx Brothers, a Road Warriors knock-off team, in the AWA.

By the way, there appears to be a new Eli The Eliminator on the independent scene, and he has no connection to the original.
