You think WCW would have thought twice about pushing Arachnaman upon an unsuspecting world if they'd known about this.

During the mid-60's, Bat-mania was sweeping the nation. Adam West was the star of the hit camp show BATMAN, and all was good. And then came the wrestling rip-offs. The most well-known is Battman, aka Tony Marino, a pretty good wrestler in the WWWF, and one-time tag partner (AS Battman!) with Bruno "Today's Wrestling Is A Circus" Sammartino. Before he went into his partnership with Bruno, however, he teamed with a more familiar face, Robin!

Another gimmick of a similar nature was Matman. That didn't last long either.

After a while, thankfully, the fad wore off and most of the wrestlers dropped the gimmick before D.C.Comics implemented any lawsuits.
