MATCH
RESULTS
Records indicate that
Terry Taylor was listed as TV Champion in early 1981. The Central States
TV Title was born in 1977, but records indicate that there was no champion
between Bob Sweetans last reign in December 1977 and Taylors 1981 reign.
The most likely scenario is that the title was inactivated in early 1978.
I do not know if Taylor defeated a previous champion, won a tourney, or
was given the belt.
Central States Tag
Team Title records show the title vacant in May, when Terry Taylor (who
was co-holder w/ Bob Brown) leaving the area. Bob
Sweetan & Terry Gibbs defeated The Freebirds in the finals of an 8 team one night tourney in KC on June 18 to become champions.
After Buzz Tyler
& JJ Dillon won the belts in August, the title was seemingly declared
vacant again, as Rufus R Jones & Dewey Robertson defeated Bob Sweetan
& Jerry Brown in an October tournament.
